Husky is a general term for several breeds of sled dog, ours is Siberian. The Husky is a resilient and energetic breed with outstanding powers of endurance. Their eyes can often be different colours or parti-coloured. They closely resemble their ancestor the wolf and howl rather than bark. A heroic dog, the Husky has helped many explorers to reach the North Pole. A Husky called Balto saved a town from a diptheria epidemic in 1925 by leading a team of sled dogs through the snow with a life-saving serum. He is now stuffed and displayed in Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
