Small and bright-eyed with a distinctive profile, Scotties were bred to hunt badgers. They are typical terriers, inquisitive, but also territorial, and they enjoy a fight. As the unofficial mascot for Scotland, this dog is often seen in advertisements and books wearing a tartan collar or a jaunty tam-o-shanter. The Scottie is the only breed of dog that has lived in the White House more than three times. Well-known Scotties include Jock in Lady and the Tramp and the Monopoly dog.
